Each one of team members play an important role in keeping this well-oiled machine, not only running but churning out brilliant ideas and projects on the reg. In our ‘meet the team’ series, we give you a little more insight into the talented folk that make up our Smack Bang family.
My name is Kate and my mum would say I’m messy but I think floordrobes are in. The first thing I do when I wake up is cuddle my puppy and at the end of the day I like to spend quality time with my love. My favourite thing about my job is getting to do what I love whilst hanging out with a bunch of absolute legends.
What do you do at SBD? I’m one of the mid-weight designers at SBD. I get to bring clients visions to life through branding, stationery, website design and packaging… the list is endless. I’m also involved in taking the odd photograph here and there for our socials, as well as scheduling + creating content for our Instagram stories. Since the speaker is next to my desk, I also get to do the much sought after job of resident DJ (which usually involves me putting on a playlist at the start of the day and realising at 5pm that it’s been on non-stop rotation all. day. long). Basically, I get to work alongside some of the greatest people I know, laugh a lot, drink a whole heap of tea, and be grateful that I get to go to a job that I love every day.
If you weren’t doing that, what would you be doing? Laying on a beach.
You’re on a desert island and can only listen to one album for the rest of your days. Which one is it? This is actually too hard to answer. I think I’d go loopy if I had to listen to one album over and over.
What’s your weekend ritual? Wake up, eat brekky out on the deck with my husband and pup, head across the road to the beach for a quick walk, relax, eat a big lunch, relax some more, head back to the beach & finish the day by meeting up with friends for dinner and drinks. Sleep. Repeat.
What’s the best choice you’ve made so far in life? Pulling the moves on my now husband.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? Teleportation. Would cut down the daily commute.
Coffee order? Chai latte. Not a coffee fan.
If you weren’t living in Wollongong, where would you choose and why? I think I’d go further South. It’s always been our holiday location and instantly relaxes me.
