Whenever we need a delicious recipe, we call up our dear friend, Jacob Leung. He is a food stylist, recipe developer and all-around magician in the kitchen – seriously, his food is pure magic! This week we enlisted him to help us share a little Christmas love. The brief was simple, we wanted to create a sauce that was super easy and super yummy, something we can make at home, and better yet, jar-up as a little somethin’ special for our loved ones! Read on, as we share Jacob’s Brandy Caramel Sauce, plus some beautifully designed gift tags for you to print at home.
Makes: One Jar
Time: 15 minutes
You will need:
Method:
Step 1: In a medium-sized saucepan, over a medium heat add the butter, brown sugar, vanilla and brandy. Stir with a wooden spoon. Wait till the sugar dissolves and the sauce starts to simmer. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes and stir continuously.
Step 2: Pour into sterilised jars and place in a fridge.
Step 3: Dollop over a fresh pavlova with fig and banana.
Other serving suggestions:
Jacob’s Note: “This sticky Brandy Caramel Sauce is the best Christmas accompaniment! I love it with fresh fruit such as fig or banana, Christmas puddings or to be honest. . . . . . just with a teaspoon out of the jar!”
