When the Smack Bang gang aren’t head down bottoms up in pixels and emails, we love keeping abreast of what’s going on around the interwebs; and the world at large.
So after much demand, we’ll be sneaking you under the cover of our screens over the next few weeks to reveal what different members of our taste-making team are reading, watching, coveting, eating and working on….
Enjoy and please feel free to share your own in the comments.
I’m a late bloomer to Netflix, not sure why because I love a good binge. I was totally addicted to The Sinner and sad I’ve reached the end.
Lately, I’ve been working on Baskk Magazine. The goal for volume two was to inject more depth into the content and to really challenge ourselves to create a premium publication that is both beautiful and thought-provoking. Gaining inspiration for me is about consistently writing as well as reading books – current fave is The White Album By Joan Didion – she’s pushed me to write from a much more raw and personal perspective.
My home is a work-in-progress that has been put on hold until after our wedding. But, I would love to own a piece of Dina Broadhurst’s work. She is so feminine, so clever and downright cool.
I haven’t been very adventurous in the kitchen of late so One Pan Salmon is high on rotation in my house.
I believe the best way to become more open-minded is to read or listen to others opinions to broaden your own. This article by Jessica Knoll explores gender typecasting. So well written and ballsy. I love it.
Again I’m all about the peoples, so I enjoy reading Word Form, love a good Q&Afrom InBed and pedestrian.tv for their witty articles – this one on how much melons suck is hilarious and so on point.
I’m not big on podcasts but I recently listened to an old TED Talk by Yuval Noah Harari on ‘The Rise Of Humans’. He points out we’re the only beings that believe in stories. Both funny and fascinating.
