When the Smack Bang gang aren’t head down bottoms up in pixels and emails, we love keeping abreast of what’s going on around the interwebs; and the world at large.

So after much demand, we’ll be sneaking you under the cover of our screens over the next few weeks to reveal what different members of our taste-making team are reading, watching, coveting, eating and working on….

Enjoy and please feel free to share your own in the comments.
  1. I’m looking forward to seeing Mary Queen of Scots. I’m not usually into period films but this one looks incredible. And Boy Erased seems like a rollercoaster of emotions…get the tissues ready!
  2. Currently I’m managing a number of different creative projects: A website for a diamond merchant, an online travel publication and branding for a Vegan Meat company. Each project differs in scale and complexity, which keeps me on my toes.
  3. I’m on the prowl for a new backpack, this Nixon one has caught my eye. A decent jacket is definitely at the top of my shopping list too – TCCS’ sturdy leather number should last a lifetime.
  4. I love getting lost in furniture and homewares stores, this reclaimed elm side table would be perfect in my hallway.
  5. I’m constantly toying with the idea of becoming vegan, with the influence of my dad.  This recipe is my meat-free go-to. If I’m feeling extra adventurous (and carnivorous), I love this recipe by my bestie back home.
  6. Socialism with a spine is a really interesting read on contemporary socialism where John Quiggin paints a dynamic picture of global politics. Sorry it’s a little heavy!
I’ve also started reading a book on Why We Sleep before I go sleep! It’s been fascinating to learn how lack of sleep can be more detrimental to your body than poor diet and low/no exercise combined.
  7. My Dad Wrote A Porno podcast has been out for a while but still makes me cry with laughter every time. I wouldn’t recommend listening to it on public transport, you’re bound to get a few curious looks.
  8. For some timeless business inspiration, I recommend reading Dale Carnegie’s classic, How To Win Friends And Influence People. I found it really motivating and full of great insights into the art of building professional relationships. Despite being published in 1936 it’s still incredibly relevant.
